Fit for a Queen

My grandmother turned 90 in April. She is a fabulous woman, and I am so thankful to call her my grandma. Turning 90 is no small feat, and it deserved to be celebrated! So, celebrate we did. Tyler and I hosted the party, to which about 40 people attended, at our house. Hosting is something we love to do, so without further adieu, here are pictures!

A cheery entrance

I love making our front porch pretty. Is that weird? It is just so exciting that it is the entrance, to our home! It's the first thing people see when they walk up, so why not keep it looking fresh? I do wish I could have thought of some other word than "spring" to put on it, haha, but oh well!

I just wrapped the wreath form in canvas (from a drop cloth), hot gluing as I went around. I made the flowers from fabric remnants I got at St. Vinnies, and hot glued them as well. It was super easy and can be updated with other pretties later on, if I feel like it.

Spring is in the air

We got a lovely dose of sunny spring/summer weather a few weeks back. That kind of weather makes me want to surround myself with bright, cheery colors. This Buffett was a steal on Craigslist, although meeting randoms to buy furniture always feels a little sketchy! Luckily for me, I picked it up at a retirement facility! I felt a thousand times safer when I saw that upon pulling up, is that sad? Anyways, I digress. I originally planned on painting it white, but wasn't happy with that outcome. Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the process, so I only have before/ after pics. Hope you love it as much as I do! I'll be trying to sell this baby as soon as I make some finishing touches. That is, unless I find a place in the house needing a pop of color!

Tomorrow, a spring wreath :)

Chevron Table

There's been a lot of painting going on over here folks. I figured it's about time I shared some of my recent projects. I'll show one a day while I can, and yes, I jumped on the chevron bandwagon. I am proud to say, Tyler now knows what chevron is :). I'm sure this won't be the last of it in our home!

I also have some exciting news, this table was the first piece of furniture i have sold! I was sad to see her go (and yes, I decided it's a she), since I spent so dang long taping off semi perfect lines, but she is in a happier place now. Haha, I couldnt resist that last part. But seriously, I had nowhere for the table in our house, and had big plans for a facelift. Here she is in all her glory!

Up next, something aqua :)
